We were proud to host the inaugural E3 Equity in Action Summit, March 18-19, 2018, in partnership with St. Raphael School. This interactive summit brought together educators, administrators, nonprofit and social service leaders, and students from across the country to experience the impact of E3's specialized tools in action. The summit offered an engaging experience of "equity in action" through first-hand visits to E3's demonstration sites.
We kicked off the Summit on Sunday evening, connecting in community through some of E3's community building processes, and listening and engaging in dialogue with scholar activists Brandon Nicholson of the Hidden Genius Project and Lorena Gonzalez of the Puente Project. The following day we spent doing site visits to an elementary school, high school, college and a social service agency, and discussed how each were addressing equity and engaging the E3 tools. After lunch, we shared E3's Equity Framework and spent some time in small group breakout sessions with featured speakers Jim Hogeboom (Novato Unified School District), Vielka Hoy (Bridge to College), Jesse Madsen (Marin County Office of Education) and Audra Williams (Lincoln). We then worked in small groups to design equity action plans with concrete steps to implement directly following the Summit.
Many thanks to all of our attendees and our E3 community!
